My oscilloscope chart!
Just like the multimeter chart, here's the oscilloscope chart!
Now that I have more oscilloscopes than really needed (2 is the magic number)
here's the comparison chart much like my multimeters (2 may or may not be the
magic number for multimeters...)
Manufacturer | Model (Intro Year) | Construction | Acquisition | Bandwidth | Channels | time/div or sweep speed | Voltage per div | Waveform measurement, other than graticule | Screen | Triggers | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
US Navy/Carol/Hickok | OS-8 (early 1950s) | Point to Point Generic parts/Tubes | Analog | 2MHz | 1 | 10Hz-50KHz (10ms-2µs assuming 10 div) | Missing Graticule, ~75mV RMS volts/inch | - | 3" diameter round CRT | none/Sweep vernier | Disposed :-(, first toy scope |
Waterman | S-10-A (1946) | Point to Point Generic parts/Tubes | Analog | ? | 1 | ? | No Graticule | - | 1.5" diameter round CRT | none/Sweep vernier | Disposed :-( |
Eico | 460 (1956) | Point to Point Generic parts/Tubes | Analog | 4.5MHz | 1 | 10Hz-100KHz (10ms-1µs assuming 10 div), XYZ | 25mV to 25V per inch (division) | - | 5" diameter round CRT | Int ±/Ext/NTSC | At Parents house |
Vu-Data | PS941B (~1978) | Through Hole Generic parts | Analog | 20MHz | 2 | 500ms-100ns | 10mV to 20V | - | 4" Rectangular CRT | Int/Ext Adj Level | My First Useful Scope - debugged stuff and not just a toy |
Tektronix | 2465 (1984) | Through Hole Custom parts | Analog with Digital Control | 300MHz | 4 | 5s-5ns, XYZ, and 10x zoom (500ps/div) | 2mV to 5V | Cursors | 5.5" Rectangular CRT | Int/Ext Adj Level, Dual timebase | Repaired - second useful scope (repaired Tek 2440) |
Tektronix | 2440 (1988) | Through Hole Custom parts | Digital CCD 500MSa/s 1024 samples | 300MHz | 2 | 5s-500ms strip chart, 200ms-2ns, and XY | 200µV to 5V | Cursors Waveform Computed | 5.5" Rectangular CRT | Int/Ext Adj Level, Dual timebase | eBay, repaired, currently just a toy |
